day by day, it just passed... and now it is out of sight,

and again it is time to reflect on what we had thrive

 & how we managed to weather the storm and survived ...
Twist & turn, our fate took a roller coaster stride,
In good times, we put our feet up & enjoy the ride,
During worst times, we took a bite of (life) lesson and cry.
What I mean is GST, who chose 4/1/15 to say Hi!
Oh, dear. Our disposable income slowly slipped out of sight.

There is a saying that "Money comes like a turtle and goes like a rabbit" which literally

defines that the pace of our income growth is way slower than the inflation growth.

I wish our government knows... but unfortunately, they dont.
Yet, they try to out-smart the rest, by saying 6% GST implementation will make the price
drop low, but wriggling through the storm in 2015, has proven it to be a BIG NO-NO.
The price of basic needs sky-rocketed like no tomorrow, and another minister suggested
we should take a second job, which I did .... SO??

So...

1. Getting a second job. (Working at a pet shop - shelter)

Weekend will never be the same again for me... 

        No more potato couch habit, & no more friends & family outing.

• In return, I had gained some valuable soft skills & knowledge about animal care, customer service & what other deemed as trivial skills (fixing the broken pipes, mixing cements, unclogging a drain, & cooking food for the shelter animals)
• I had expanded my networking circle... (*I realised there are many people out there, who weather the bad economical storm, and yet they are willing to part with their money, to feed, castrate the strays & rescue the injured ones)
• Taking up a second job had drained my energy (*physically & mentally), as I have been working non-stop for 7 days a week... 
• With the meagre side income, at least it will cushion my weekly expenses.
• There is a saying goes "Its not how much you earn, it is how much your save"
• Since then, I self-learned about financial education and also feeling privilege to receive free guidance from a financial guru. 
• I learnt to live rich but frugally. 
• And I never look back since.

2. Pursuing the long term fulfillment

 

(a) Purchasing a new (*imported) car

Sorry to say, I dont support local products (*films, cars ...)

In pursuit of long term fulfillment wants, you need to make many small sacrifices to get what you want. So, every cent counts. I saved hard on my earnings, and I grabbed the opportunity to changed my old second-handed car, to a brand new Suzuki Alto.

It may just be a humble beginning, but its striking existence proven that if we strive to upgrade our life, We Can! and We Will... and if we don't, we will always be at the same old spot ---- Keep complaining about factors that we cant control, wishing & praying for miracle to happen. 

If your complains keeps growing, wont change our life for better, but EFFORTS will.

(b) Trip to South Korea

It is strange that no matter which country you are originated from, you will always dream that you will be able to visit a particular country, if you are given a chance.

As for me, I grew up when the Hallyu Wave started.

Since then, I had been harboring a dream that I will be able to land my feet on its majestic shore.

Opportunity came knocking, 2 years after planning for a 'Cousins Trip" which consisted of we, cousins who grew up together. Alright, lets move back in time to April 10, 2015

On this fateful day, a team of 5 consisted of (3 Malaysians & 2 Singaporeans) took our own respective flight and meet up at KLIA2, and thats where our backpacking adventure started.

It was my very first backpacking trip and I do have some regrets which I think I could do better if I were given a second chance.

Well, here's the catch.

Although travelling (*via backpacking) in a group was fun, but ...

1. Sometimes, we need to bite the bullet, when it comes to compromising each other's wants & needs

     - (*Toilet break) 

        A member of the group was ill, on the day we departed for Korea. Our adventure               was interrupted, as she constantly bothering us for a toilet break.

    - Difference of interests.

      While the group members from Singapore, had been on sight-seeing to Korea, this

      time, they chose to ignore our intention to visit places, and focus solely on food &             shopping haven. 

but overall (April 10, 2015 - April 19, 2015), it was a fun ride, and I wish I will be able to make up to the losses by joining a tour trip to Korea in future. 

3. Bonuses CUT in Income

To add salt to injury, the company I used to take pride of working hard for (*despite constant advises that I should learn to work smart) had decided to reward the filthy rich shareholders by further reducing the monetary benefits for their employees.

Yes, they do know the rule "In each decision you make, you cant please everyone!"

So, they chose to sacrifice the needs of the needy ones (*their employees)

They cut their employees bonuses, and further reduced their employees KPI (*Key Performance Index) who contributed towards the company's growth and lent a hand in company's event preparation... 

They heartlessly let the employees down, & hope that these people will feel motivated to continue to go extra miles for the company. 

Shakespears said "To be or not to be, that is a question" 

If we lose our momentum to go extra miles, we are putting our career in line.

If we do, the management team will think that it is ok to further cut down on those benefits. We, employees will accept it with open heart. We employees can still cope well without these extra monetary benefits. 

In a nutshell, intelligent people will diversify their financial portfolios and wont put all their eggs in one basket, but at the same time, learn to safeguard their keeps from schools of financial piranhas.

With this, I end on a high note that I managed to wiggle, wiggle, wiggled through 2015' with low and high tides, but now it is time to say Goodbye, and bid 2016, with a new sets of revolution to strive.

Private & Controversial Mind of A Singleton

yet people's perception remains,

Getting hitched with pride,
We all think different, yet alike,
Pursuing the path that we like,
to seek fulfillment in our lifetime.

It is quite alarming to know that Malaysian population are shrinking.

(especially the Chinese Malaysians)

in tackling on this alarming issue.

 No matter what happen, even if the human species is facing extinction...

Singletons stay firm on their decision to stay single by choice. 

Yes! people like us are constantly receiving pressure
from friends & family to find a partner & settle down. 

I believe some will most probably cussing us making such a selfish decision.

Hear us out, folks...before you make any lopsided judgement on singletons

1. FREEDOM

Everyone has 24 hours a day,

                               7days a week,

                                      365 days a year.

If you think that you have additional time to spend with your family, friends & on yourself, after having a partner... YOU ARE ILLUSIONAL.

Those time, are originated from the personal time you used to spend 
with you family & friends.

As time passed, you will realize that the ratio of time, you spent with your partner are 
more than with your family/friends or spending solitary time doing what you enjoy most (*combined)
Sometimes, you have to make a decision that gives a win-win situation for both parties.

Reason: Relationship is all about compromising & committed to each other. 

2. RESPONSIBILITIES
Unless you are only interesting in flirting around, usually a loving relationship will lead to marriage. Centuries had passed, and providing a status in the book of law, is well preserved. That is where the responsibility sprouted from a root to branches in a family tree.

During courting times, you are only getting involve in your partner's life. 

   but after marriage, it is not a matter of two individuals, but of two families.

       - you will find yourself getting involve in your own family's affair as well as your 

         lifetime partner's. Do your homework on how you can juggle your dual roles well as a 
         daughter/son and son/daughter in-law.
       - and the remaining time, you need to focus on own children's welfare & career.

Do you still have enough time for yourself??

3. FINANCIAL
Before you consider about the government's effort to increase the population, look into your own pockets...
  In reality, everyone (*including the ministers) only worry about their own pockets. 

GST, inflation and depreciation of currency value have caused the price of basic necessity
sky-rocketed, while your coffer growth remains stagnant. 
         What did the same ministers who plead the people to worry less about quality and 
         focus on quantity do to ease your financial burden??

                Have they make any effective move that will help you to increase your coffer? 
                --  NO.
                Have they step up to provide subsidies for your children's welfare? -- NO.

So, why should we, singletons oblige the government's effort to settle down & increase the population, when our coffer is shrinking day by day? Increasing the population will only increase these minister's coffer via GST, as our saving diminishes into the 'nation's coffer'

When you have a meagre income, every cent counts.
When you have more financial responsibilities on others, you will have less for yourself.

4. Hardship

During this economy slowdown, are you having a hard time to make ends meet?
Do you feel safe, as the recent global crime gets more violent and ruthless?

The world is no longer a nice place to live, as people are getting more satanic in the name of God/religion. If suicide bombing & massive killing are preached as a religious act, and not a sin, the world is in a verge of self-destruction. 
Good health may no longer prolong our expiry date... and our future are bleak.
    We cant help but to worry for our own safety... 
      we might not know when we might be at the wrong place, at the wrong time... as such
      criminal act just happened unannounced.

  Why should we dedicate our lives by fulfilling others, and sidelining our own?

  Why should we produce 'another being' to consume our scarce resources, and 

 ride on the hardship together, for the sake of contributing towards population growth?

    

Reason: Singleton just want to spend every moments of their life

on pursuing what they enjoy most (*without restrictions)
 and live their life to the fullest. 

5. Purpose of Life

After getting into a relationship, you may enjoy

 * dining at restaurants

 * Overseas adventure

 * Hanging out frequently with friends 

but.... you lose your purpose of life. 

Your main concern will most probably evolves around your partner...
 --- Have he/she taken his/her meal?
    ---- why isnt she returning my call/reply my message?
      --- I wonder what is he/she doing right now?

or just a (*sigh) I miss him/her so much... after a period of separation.

These thoughts occupied every inches of room in ones brain, that there is no space to have a second thought about the true purpose of life.
        ---- What they themselves actually want to achieve in life?

Till the end, ones can only summed up as
          "settling down with an ideal partner, and live happily ever after"

but for a singleton, we believe we can achieve more,

  whether in contributing back to the society...

than just a babies making producers.

 to do what we think is best in nurturing our own soul..

there are many other earthling out there who needs us...

A custom that was passed down from generations to generations, although it seems ridiculous and illogical, but modern human like us who are exposed to so much knowledge, still believe the truth behind those rituals?

Sad to say, I'll make sure some ridiculous ritual will be forgotten in this generation...

Introvert's Trapped Soul

Extroverts will never understand how it feels like to be an introvert.

Introverts do have their own thoughts, they do have their own voices, but they only allow those whom they are comfortable with, to access to this locked archieve that they kept it away from the public. Thats the true soul, that lies deep inside them.

Due to their shy personality, it is really stressful to start a conversation, or even to voice their own opinion/ideas. Most of the time, all they hope for is that others will  at least acknoledge their presence/absence.

Sacrificing (The) Biological Clock

The most selfish decision of being single woman/man, is to turn a deaf ears of parents greatest wish of getting a boyfriend and start a family, and turn a blind eyes on the aging population issue at an alarming rate, and start to enjoy the endless freedom of being a single, knowingly that the biological clock is tickling nearer and nearer towards its expiry date.

Afterall, you are responsible for your own destiny, not them!

It wouldn't take long for those shameless bastards to counter-attack on those spread what they believed to be the hidden truth about the government on posted on search engines and social networks ----- in fact, it seems to be getting out of control.  

They plan to send a representative to meet up with those social networks and search engine

provider, to restrict the access or block those news from their platform. --- it is time to stem those malicious information (*to the government) on the internet before it reach out to the people.

When the currency value depreciates further, our medical expenses increased tremendously, as those

medical supplies were imported from overseas. Do the blo*dy government aware of this? ---NO

Due to weaker currency value, the cost pressure on consumers are on the rise.

The cost of basic necessity increases, and now even the wage of our maid increased as well.

Now, I need to forked out at least 45% for the same amount of wages for our maid due to 

currency depreciation. Do these ministers aware of these?----NO.

"We need to pay more for our son's education fees and expenses in overseas. The minister claimed

that the drop of currency values are good for tourism and export. Dont these ministers understand that weaker currency pushes inflation higher, and the new tax implementation makes the situation even worse."

"I believe whether the currency will go lower really depends on whether the political situation gets

worsen. Ahhh.... nowadays, one of the minister claimed that those donation in the minister's account were actually from a friendly nation to fund the upcoming election against the opposition party.

We, people are confused. Very confused.

First, these ministers chose to stay silence.

Next, they denied that that there were monies channeled into a personal account.

When an online tabloid covered about it, they confessed, but it was not meant for personal use, 

it was actually a political funds reserved for the upcoming election.

After some time, Kim Moon Shik stepped up and claimed that it was a donation from a friendly nation to fight against terrorism.

Now, his deputy minister claimed that those monies were given by a friendly nation

to fight against opposition in the upcoming general election. 

The interviewee broke down in tears, and the interview was stopped.

All these while, you could see that the ministers were stressing on how depreciation of currency is good for boosting tourism, and exports. No ministers ever mentioned about the poor society.

Where is the government for the people? 

"hese people have nothing to worry about, as they have enough monies for themselves

and their family. Now, it is not the people who abandon the government, it is the 

government who chose to disconnect with the people, in pursuit of their own agendas and interest.

You see, These people are only fighting for their own interest & survival. Don't be surprise that 

they had never thought of guarding the interest of the people, when they are in power.

If not, the people wouldn't have to suffer, while they continue to prosper.

The government were furious and slammed on these people as shallow minded (*fools)

People have started to lose faith in the government who lead with iron fists.

Once a democratic country had turn into an irreversible mess, as the government have 

rule it with dictatorship. Whoever who disagree with Elder, are considered as treason.

Devoted ministers are sacked, and replaced with those who are good-for-nothing, and 

give gibberish opinions. The government has turn into a global laughing stock.

The country have been suffering from brain drain, as many capable people left for greener pasture

and now, the government is making it worse. Many had renounce their citizenship, as they

felt ashamed of their own nationality. They had lost faith in the government's leadership. 

The country's future is at bleak, but do the government ever care in the first place?

Taxpayer's money have been misused and the country is facing a huge financial crisis.

But what the government ever care is to save their own as*, and thus they introduced 

Goods & Service Tax (GST). The poor and middle income struggle to make ends meet, and

the rich community are getting richer. But do the government ever care? NO.

Low-skilled foreigners starts to fill the gap left by those who left the country,

but do the government ever care? NO. 

The people continue to suffer, and the country is heading towards self-destruction

under the leadership of Elder who lead with iron fists, and refused to listen the the people.

 Incapable ministers are appointed to replace those who truly devoted

to contribute to the country's development. Those who go against Elder, are considered

treason to the country.

Kim Moon Shik had a urgent video conferencing with his advisors,

and they had strongly advised him to admit the existence of the monies in his 

personal account, for the sake of their investment company.

"What should I tell them, then?" he asked

"Urmmmm.... after having some brainstorming, they did came out with lots

of convincing excuses, or should I say explanation. 

"But these excuses would only create more questionable doubts on your credibility." 

said one of them.

"We should get ourselves financially prepared for the worst. Worst come to worst, we might have to 

flee the country, so it is time we transfer some of the monies to overseas account bit by bit" said one of the minister.

"Now, it seems like everyone thinks that the world is eyeing on our every movement, so it is quite..."

said his advisor.

"Thats why I said, we should do it without creating any suspicion" the minister added.

"Guys! Guys! Stop. Now we must be united to overcome this crisis." said Kim Moon Shik.

Now, is not the time for arguments. Those secret transactions, we will discuss later." he added

(The arguements stopped)

One of them suggested that he should just declared that those monies

were donations from business associates from overseas. Afterall, it is legally right to receive

donation for political fund purposes without declaring those funds publicly.

"Hows that sound? --- Donation.

This is short and sweet." said his immediate adviser.

"Hurrmmm... sounds good." said Kim Moon Shik 

The next day, Kim Moon Shik purposely arranged for a press conference with 

a national broadcasting station to clear the air about the scandal.

He couldn't hide his excitement, knowingly that after the broadcast, he'll be able to 

clear all the accusation against him (*and those involved in corruptions), and enjoy a deeeppppp comfortable sleep --- a simple pleasure of life which he had always taken for granted, but now he realised that is all he needs most!

He refuted that those large sum of monies, are for his personal usage, and it is solely 

reserved as political funds. It was a donation from generous donors to fund the general election.

"It is legally right not to declare those donations in the public, but....

it is legally wrong for someone to hack into the minister's personal account and leaked

those information to the media. We are now conducting thorough investigations on who are the whistle blowers who intended to tarnish the governments reputation." said Kim Moon Shik

"There have been internal and external pressure to file a lawsuit for no-confidence in the government

and requesting you to step down while the investigation is still on. What do you think?"

the reporter asked.

"Well, I did nothing wrong. Why should I step down? said Kim Moon Shik 

We are going to file a lawsuit against these people for defamation, because this is how

we observe the freedom of speech, which have fought for and protected." said Kim Moon Shik

"I wont feel threatened by those external pressures, because I have all my party members support, and I have my people's support. I will continue to serve my people till my term ends. I wish the viewers acknowledge that point" he added

"Once again, I would like to stress on that media exists to diagnose the pain of

this society and cure it. Instead of focusing on such baseless scandals involving the 

government, they should set the priority right by diagnosing the latest social illness

of the society. Let the government handles the country's development. There have been 

developments going on, but the people can only enjoy when it is ready." he said

"People are struggling with inflation and unemployment rate is on the rise.

People are blaming it on the scandal involving the government. What do you think?"

 the reporter asked

"The depreciation of currency is actually good for tourism. We are expecting an influx

of tourists to our country in the upcoming years, and more foreign tourist will choose

to further their studies in our country due to the quality of education we offered with affordable fees."

For the freedom, democracy and order we have protected by devoting our lives, we urged you

to believe in us. We wont betray your trust! Everything we did is to serve you better" he added.

"By having such a huge funds in a personal bank account, the people wished to know where the money comes from, and what are the government plans in handling these monies?"

 the reporter asked

"These monies were donated by a generous nation, as a form of appreciation to the government

for (*actively) lending a helping hand to fight against terrorism in their country. They requested

that if possible, these monies should be banked in to personal account, and I think we should respect the donor's request. Just as I said earlier, we will use those monies to provide more financial assistance to the poor and needy. The rest of the monies will be reserved for political funding 

for the upcoming general election.

He concluded the live broadcast with a satisfactory smile.

"That crazy old bastard....! Really...Isn't there any way we can make him pay for his crime?

How could he twisted the facts, and used the law in his favor, and  got away with it?

the Orishin party activated his cyber team to track down on the anonymous hackers

who have the information of their bank accounts (*solid evidence of illegal funds) and threatened to release it publicly, unless corrupted ministers like Kim Moon Shik step down. 

"Partner, minion, he must have at least a squad working for him" said the (cyber) team member.

Guys (*he said to his 'yes' men), go and sign up an account for social media, and defend for me by all means...."We must get rid of all these nonsense now. Start the protocol"  said Orishin

What will be Orishin's do next, in order to secured their position and win the upcoming election?

Can they achieve success, when the people had totally lose their trust and respect for them?
